Glasgow High School Former Pupils Golf Club
Welcome to the new website which is intended to improve communication with the Membership.
For some years now the main activity of the Club has been the Club Championship & Annual outing which has been held at the magnificent Prestwick Golf Club. This year the date is Sunday 27th May.
Please indicate your intention to attend by downloading an entry form or directly with the Secretary using this link. As it is always well supported please secure your place as early as possible!
If the outing becomes over subscribed, it may be necessary to introduce a ballot for places.
Over the course of the spring/summer the Singles Knock-out Competition for The Douglas Cup is administered by Ian Litster. For inclusion/withdrawal/results Ian can be contacted on 0141 571 8365 or via e-mail to i.litster@ntlworld.com. This is an opportunity for new members to meet other Club members & become involved in the activities of the Club.
The Club will be entering a team in the Queen Elizabeth Schools Coronation Cup at Royal Burgess Golf Club, Barnton in late September. This highly successful event has been running since 1953. As previous winners on 10 occasions we are extremely keen to have as strong a team as possible representing the Club.
It is intended to invite potential team members to an outing for the purpose of selection & team pairings for the foursomes format.
Our Team’s captain and co-ordinator is Keith Macnair. Anyone member with low single figure handicap should contact Keith 07967 816087 or via e-mail to keithj@kjmdevelopments.com prior to the event. Once we have a date for the competition this will be published on the website.
After a number of years in limbo the Match against Glasgow Academicals has found a new lease of life. Play has taken place at Kilmacolm Golf Club for the last few years with the Club being the current holder of The Anniesland Cup.
